DYING CONSCIOUSLY – The Greatest Journey
addresses these questions - and much more...
Death is a topic that most people avoid, yet it is something we all have in common. This two day workshop is for learning the shamanic perspective of death and dying: nothing really dies, it simply changes form. The message of The Greatest Journey is that we can come to the end of life with grace, full of light. This workshop is designed for all persons involved in the dying process: individuals, family members, hospice care givers, and friends.
Death is the inevitable outcome of every life and does not represent a tragedy or failure, or a lost battle with disease. Death represents the spirit breaking free of its physical limitations and embarking upon the next phase of existence. Death is a sacred rite of passage, no matter how sad we might feel about losing the physical presence of someone we love.
Instinctively, we know this. Death is a transition, just as birth is.
In Dying Consciously: The Greatest Journey, you’ll learn the shamanic perspective of death—compatible with all spiritual traditions—which is that the soul or spirit of a person does not die; it simply leaves the body.
Through a series of experiential exercises, participants learn essential skills for assisting a dying person through their dying process. These are based on the great death rites of the shamanic traditions, to bring reconciliation and peace to the person dying and their loved ones.
What You Will Learn
Topics covered in the workshop and presenented in easy-to-follow steps include:
